Specialist Sound

Hailing from Northampton, Specialist Sound aka James Paredes grew up listening to hardcore and working with Breeze, Darren Styles and Hixxy in the 1990's from running a Hardcore label called JB Recordings.

He worked in a record store called Essential Vinyl alongside Mark Breeze and Mark Lambert doing live sound festivals so underground and commercial music has been in his blood.
His DNB remixes of clubland albums have been released on Universal Music Group, Clubland Hardcore Extreme 4 and 6 as well as writing for Darren Styles album (You’re jealous of me and Just Easy feat; MC Whizzkid) 2009 to 2011.

Other releases include "Sirens" on "Soul Aspirations Recordings" in 2010, "Connected" on "Two Seven Records" in 2012, "A Part Of Me" which was featuring a singer called Vaja from LA which had a lot of A List support on "Suspended Motion Recordings" alongside releases on Enhanced Recordings, Beta Recordings, A&R Recordings and RC Recordings.
Alongside Producing and DJing he taught music with MC Presha, DJ Dollar, DJ Swanee, Ellis Dee and Rudeboy Monty to kids, and then progressed to a music teacher at Northampton College and University from 2004 to 2007, running the Music Technology Acoustic courses teaching everything from BTEC up to HND and degree level. Some of his students have gone on to have massive success, such as Flux Pavilion and Trolley Snatcher.

His "Shades Of Rhythm Remix" in 2004 with Swanee had great success and he did a CD for "Fast Car Magazine" with the release of "Drop Your Defences."

After leaving teaching music he has now gone on to teach Medical Technology to Doctors, and still keeping his love of music alive he has releases forthcoming on Missrepresent's label "Sliced Note Recordings" with a 2 track release gaining huge support from Pendulum, Lion Dub and Dazee, and further releases on John B's label "Beta" for 2018.
